So, i know everyone is going on about the new SG layout so im gonna hop on board too. ITS LUSH!!! Its so girly and pretty and just ace

So, yet another blistering day of sunshine in the UK, what the wentz is going on?!?! Today i started out with breakfast outside ( i love eating outdoors, it always feels like im on holiday) and did some work in my jewellery sketchbook. Had some ace new ideas and can't wait to crack on with them tomorrow.
My big sister, her husband and my oh so gorgeous little, nearly 2yr old nephew came over today for a bbq and general play in the sunshine. It was loverly...
well it was for a while. My house is under the flight path to an RAF airfield not too far away. Its ok though cause its not used that much anymore so its not like constant air traffic, maybe get a plane a week or something. Anyway, today was the annual airshow. Its pretty cool to be honest as we get to see all these really ace, hardcore planes first. They are all pretty low but we're used to it. There wern't many jets today so spending time in the garden wasn't uncomfortable. Until just when we sat down for lunch. We could kinda hear it coming, that high pitched whistle that indicated a jet was on its way over. The only problem is you don't know how loud that "whoosh" is gonna get as it goes past.
Well, it came over and after 11 years of living here i have never seen a plane fly so low over us. Reckon the pilot could see us going "oh fuck" as he went over. That wasn't the worst part though. It was the loudest thing i have ever heard. It felt like it wasn't going to stop and that my head might explode.
Just imagine then how terrified my little nephew was
poor little mite was shaking. Took him inside and took a good hour to calm him down. Wasn't keen on going back out though.
After that every very, very distant plane that went over head (they were very quite rumbles, more like road traffic noise) it set him off again. It was awful. Can't do much other than cuddle him cause you can't explain it to him. Hope he isn't scared for life now. I was scared of them as a kid and still hate when they come tear arse-ing over like that. Poor little man
Well, heres hoping tomorrow is a little cooler as i have to do ao raku firing at college. I love the process and the results but it means hanging around a kiln outdoors that goes up to 1000c in longsleeved shirts/jumpers cause if we go to get stuff out in short sleeves we'll burn. I'll smell like bbq for a week or so too! It looks so lush though.
Oh, and i actually got a bit of a tan today! No wai!! I normally just burn but my arms have a rather lovely tone to them. My legs are still chalkey white but its a start.
