Last Friday was something special for me...

I finished work, got pressganged to the pub at 5.30 by a band of scurvy dogs from the rival building in my department, and thought things were looking up as I sank the pint in front of me. My girl wanted to do something at 6 so I joined in the discussion about whether tiger penis was an...

I've recently upset a couple of my friends by slagging off a band on YouTube, so as penance I've decided to post the link to the video here (and on the SG boards):

"My friend's friends formed a new band called Grace and I'd appreciate any comments, good, bad or ugly about them:

Not sure if they're my cup of tea but maybe I'm just...

Corn Exchange was a BIG let down for me, i was expecting original clothing blah blah, but it was a bit shit. I was pretty hungover though and tried to tackle a full english breakfast, poked at some beans and ate half a round of toast frown

Rugby was everything i ever thought it wud be tongue apart from the rage and random girls standing on the sidelines shouting obscenities it was fun. If only they were naked wink

mann having a joint wud make me even MORE sick after that, although Leeds was pretty much like Belfast, full of wanabe children wearing black and hanging around the main attractions. On the whole pretty lame time, but I wud go back, if only for the kids on the bus making an exhibition of me because of my pink hair...oh how i love children.

Ha! I thought my time was up, that my account here at SG would be over, but turns out I could afford another year, yay!

My sloppiness at blog writing somewhat depresses me though, in 2 months time hopefully I'll be a blog writing fiend, skillfully articulating tales of unemployment and escapades from the eeynip po jobs page.

Next Tuesday I'm off to see Steve...

Hello my old friend. How are you? How I love your geeky scientist ways. Make sure you escalate any aggressive feelings at the talk I want to see a full blown science riot on news 24. Will you be back in Leeds to be unemployed or elsewhere?

Hang on, wasn't Steve Jones in the Sex pistols? tongue

I look forward to reading your tales of sleeping late and watching daytime TV.

It was wedding day yesterday, saw one of my friends from work, who finished her phd (jealous edd) and left us all in the darkness that is my workplace. The wedding itself was absolutely awesome, really well done. It was held in Cambridge, the ceremony was in Pembroke chapel, which was designed by Wren (the architect not the SG!). Had readings by James Joyce in...

Oh Edd, I am so glad that everything went well. I still think that the ex should have tossed a glass of red wine at you, you cheating bastard! Also, you should photoshop you bad ass self into a funny picture since you have done it with pirates and bees already. Try a famous album cover like Dan. I think it would be killer.

Sometimes a song rings rather too true, god bless elliott smith:

First the mic then a half cigarette
Singing 'Cathy's Clown'
That's the man she's married to now
That's the girl that he takes around town

She appears composed, so she is, I suppose
Who can really tell?
She shows no emotion at all
Stares into space like a dead china doll

I'm never gonna...

In a couple of weeks I've got a wedding to go to, one of the Phd survivors who actually passed their Phd is getting married in Cambridge, of all places. Well, it's hardly a surprise since she went to university there. So I'll get the twin pleasures of seeing her all happy and perhaps seeing my old college too.

The only possible downer is that...

I got a wedding invite this week. All I could think was "great now I need to find a date. And shoes. In that order." ^_^

One would assume that I could solve the 2 problems at the same time, but things never seem to work out the way we would want them to. Oh well.

You totally should listen to it!!! I'm listening to it right now! It's so good, especially "Dublin Waltz", "Anchor and Hope" (ocean state love, what?!), and "Metropolis". The last was one of my favorite songs and this new version rendered me utterly speechless.

I'm still cooking, I've just been very lazy with the food blog. Hmm I made veggie french bread pizza tonight . . .

Take a small (preferably stale) baguette (12" oor 30 centimeters) cut it in half and hollow it out.

Roast 2 peppers (I like yellow and orange), following that roast one small to medium zuchinni and red onion pieces. chop everything up and mix with chopped fresh tomatoes one clove of garlic, a small bit of lemon juice & olive oil, fresh thyme and oregano (or dried) and salt and pepper.

Grate a bit of parmegiano and sprinkle it onto the french bread halves and then fill with the veggie mix. Top with mozzerella cheese and bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and the bread is a bit crusty.

ps glad I could help with the lady wink

After hearing the great news that my flatmate is getting a ukulele, following in the footsteps of other great players, I decided to find some way to vent my inevitable excitement on hearing this blessed instrument, inevitably during those times when I subliminally invite music into my life i.e. world cup finals, never to be shown again concerts, birth of first child, appearence on who...
