God, colds are lame. But they give the perfect excuse to combine two of my favourite things; old fashioned remedies and alcohol. HOT TODDIES!
I make mine with 1tsp honey, add a little boiling water and dissolve it all up. Then add a pinch of nutmeg and cinammon, a slice of lemon and some more lemon juice for good measure and a knob of butter, again stirring to dissolve it all. Finally, the most important bit, 2 shots of whiskey and topping it all up with more hot water. Lemsip can shove their cold remedies up their congested sinuses, toddies are the daddy...
Many things have happened since I last blogged here.... I got a new job working on bumblebees, I won a trip to Brussels avec plus de biere et cocktails and a trip to Amsterdam is on the hazy horizon. I even finally got to see Manu Chao live, which was pretty cool. All this and hot toddies are totally kicking the colds buttocks, I can just see the virii sobbing into their little protein coats at their inability to cause me misery... I'm almost tempted to mainline toddy just to cheer them up a bit
