Last Friday was something special for me...
I finished work, got pressganged to the pub at 5.30 by a band of scurvy dogs from the rival building in my department, and thought things were looking up as I sank the pint in front of me. My girl wanted to do something at 6 so I joined in the discussion about whether tiger penis was an aphrodesiac for tigers. then made my excuses and left.
Sneak that I am, I bought some flowers to get in the good books, then skipped gayly down to her house. She let me in and was, frankly, a beauty, lovely dress, made up, looked amazing. I, of course, was dressed in my usual style of pirate/tramp, the autumnal edd look. She then took my hand and led me out into the wilds of London at night...
We ended up by the river, opposite the London Eye, where she whipped out a bottle of wine and glasses

Image nicked from elsewhere, since i didn't have a camera.
I was overwhelmed with the romance, and of course the wine. There was more to come, oh so much more, as she bundled me on a bus. We ended up outside the Barbican, where she produced 2 tickets for the Sufjan Stevens concert
I'd tried to get tickets and failed miserably, so I'd forgot about the concert, given up and moved on. But she somehow managed to get tickets, how awesome is that
Truly this girl is a goddess...
A bit grainy but someone captured Sufjan as he threw out the inflatable santas and supermen to the crowd. The concert was great, I didn't think it'd be possible to capture the sound of Illinois live but he nailed it. The support act, St. Vincent, was really great too, it was just a hot woman with a guitar, no-one else, really moody and confident. Sufjan blew me away though, even if the crowd was depressingly middle class and mid 30's (not that there's anything wrong with either of the 2, just a bit unusual at the gigs I normally go to). Lots and lots of cardigans and knitwear, comfortable trousers, twat-wear hats and saying sorry at anything.
Got home after that and had a joint, perfect
Genius night, felt like the captain of a galleon, mind swimming with wine, sufjan playing on stage with the wench of my dreams at my side.
