The University of Illinois-Urbana lost one of my letters of recommendation, the bastards! I know it was mailed, and should have arrived weeks ago.

The two that showed up were submitted electronically, unlike the missing one. So when they told me one was missing today, I thought I would just have the remaining professor submit an electronic form. No luck; I originally said he would...

Well, my New Year's plans with my friends fell through. Mainly because they decided to have their baby on New Year's Eve day. Or the baby decided. However these things work.

So, I suppose I can forgive them cancelling our plans.

I still haven't seen the kid, though. I was at the hospital when their first was born. Apparently all the excitement wears off by...

It will be easier for you in the long run if you just agree.

Drunk, possibly, scandalous, probably not. I don't think the boy would appreciate that very much. But we could just have a night of raucous (sp?) good times.

My guitar shipped today! Finally! As you might recall, I ordered it in October. Hopefully it will arrive next week.

Other than that, it's a long weekend. That's good. I still don't have any plans for New Year's. No one to kiss, either, but that's nothing new. I'm almost positive that I'll survive.

Have a great New Year's celebration, everyone!

Last night I woke up with the Panic. Racing heartbeat, palpitations, tingly numbness. No reason for it, but it won't stop. You know how it is. Or maybe you don't.

It's not good, anyway.

Other than that things are going well. I've been working on this hellacious project at work, but tomorrow is my last day at it. Basically, the company has this software, and...

Well, Christmas is gone for another year. I did manage to receive a number of gifts I actually wanted, including:

a harmonica
a Monster iCable for my iPod (to connect it to the stereo)
Emily Post's Etiquette

I have read my way through a large part of this book, and I've decided that it offers valuable advice on just about every situation that could ever...

I feel good today. Better than I have in a long time.

She told me she loves me.

And not a friendly, platonic sort of thing. A "can't live without you, you're my everything" sort.

She told me she loves me.

She also told me that because of this, she can't speak to me any more. I didn't take this seriously, as I don't really...

So I just had my earlobes stretched from 18 ga. to 10 ga. Four holes. Really, it didn't hurt as much as you might think.

All that jewelry was pricey, though. That hurt.

Sick's Christmas List

  • A turntable - direct drive, not belt-drive

  • A harmonica - Hohner Special 20, in the key of C

  • A visit from MathGirl

  • MathGirl's boyfriend's head on a stick

That's about it. There are also some books and CDs I want, but that list gives the main items I'd like.

And, since I got no response yesterday, I will repost my question:

(Note:...
