Lots of changes at the workplace. They're reorganizing the corporate structure. Again. They're not firing anyone or anything--not that kind of re-org. Just changing who reports where in order to make things more efficient and whatnot. No big impact on me, really. A new boss, but more or less the same old work.

In the four years I've been working at this place, I've had five bosses. I suspect I'm bad luck.

There are two kinds of bosses. Those who include me in team activities, and those who don't. Unfortunately my new boss is one of the latter. I appreciate being appreciated and included in things and all, but it can be stressful. We had a team lunch today, which is one of the worst things ever. Not only did I have to deal with a bunch of people, but I had to see them eat, and have them see me eat.

I don't like to see people eat. I don't like people to see me eat. It's disgusting.

So, team lunch means double stress.

On the plus side, the re-org means I have three times the work to do, because I get to edit all the process documents and everything. Technically other people are supposed to make the important content changes, send them to me so I can check them over for glaring errors, put them into the proper format, and otherwise make sure they're presentable.

Not as easy as it sounds, because most people don't know how to write. Oh, they think they can, since they can type and string words together. But I really don't know what to do with some of the things I get. It would be rude of me to ask, "What the hell am I supposed to do with that?" and send it back to get fixed.

But I really want to send things back.

Seriously; if I were to produce anything like that, I'd be fired. At least I hope I'd be fired. If I wasn't, I'd be horribly ashamed of myself.

As it is, I do what I can to fix things and hope the business people who wrote the documents don't object. Sometimes they do.

"That isn't what I wrote. The document needs say what I had it say."
"I understand. However, what you wrote was complete crap, and I can't in good conscience release it to the public. It says the same thing you wrote, just more clearly."
"No, I want it the original way. Let's try changing it back, hmm?"
"Aargh!"

Aargh!
