I don't show my emotions often, and I think people tend to forget I have them. Actually, my feelings are hurt pretty easily, but when I try to explain to someone, "Hey, it hurt my feelings when you did this," they act as though they can't believe they're hearing such a thing from me.

As a result, my feelings are mostly insignificant to those around me. They might as well say, "Well, that's nice, but your feelings don't really matter." It's rather frustrating.

Case in point: I've been trying to get one of my female friends to go out with me for six months; however, she's kind of anti going out with anyone, so I've respected her boundaries while still trying to win her over. Also, it turns out she always thought I was joking. Anyway, now she suddenly gets a boyfriend, and somehow can't understand that this might upset me a little.

In addition, it confirms what I've always said: being nice gets you nowhere. In fact, it sets you back; I'm now further behind than when I started.

Ah well, I'll get over it.
