I've decided my one strength in conversation is the ability to keep people talking about themselves. I'm talking about the "hey, how's your life been" conversations, not those about history or science or religion or politics. I'm good at those kinds of conversations. But the other kind, the small-talk kind...what can I say about myself? I go to work. I come home. I'm a recluse. Nothing has changed in my life since last time we talked.

But I can keep people talking, and add enough to give the impression that I'm interesting and what-have-you.

Don't get me wrong. I am interesting. There's just never a whole lot going on in my life. My life is very uninteresting. Sometimes I wish it were different.

I've been reading Chaucer for two weeks straight Sir. It really is affecting me, not to mention I was quite taken aback at the audacity of said redneck yelling at me about killing baby animals - kind of set the mood for the entirety of the trip. Fucking hill people really piss me off.

Shit, we were readin Lanval by Marie de France and some woman got all huffy in the discussion boards (it's an online course) and wrote something to the effect of, "Isn't this a bit xxx rated for this course? I'm not sure this is appropriate reading..." I replied something to the effect of, "Aren't you a little bit sheltered for this course? If you can't handle history, maybe you should check out the bible college down the street lady." Rediclous. Yet another reason why I take online courses - I'd have to choke a bitch otherwise.
