I've become really tired of this academic study of music crap! I go around from theory classes to music history classes and hear nothing but ideas that I don't like. My own theorys are begining to formulate and I'm tired of getting shot down every time I suggest something new or interesting, or even a new way to look at things. What's more is that I can't stand the idea of performing other people's music. I agree on the importance of learning and studying it but I don't care to repeat what someone else has already said. Is there anyone out there with a similar problem...got some advice?
