Robert Williams (of Zap Comix fame) is at the center of lowbrow - pop surreal art having virtually started it single handedly. clicking on any pic below will open a new window on Juxtapoz, Robt. Wms. magazine.
Enchiladas de Amore - Robt Wms
Self Portrait with Extraneou Figments - Robt Wms
The Girl with the Faberge Ass - Robt Wms
Crimes Against the Eye - Robt Wms.
of the four illustrations my favorite is the last one. i swear i've seen it around L.A. somewhere. "Crimes Against the Eye" is the name of the series not this particular illustration, but i can't find the name of that particular illustration anywhere at the moment and googling Robert Williams returns a huge number of hits (54,200,000).
Robert was born in New Mexico...home of the homie.
