The Decemberists show Wednesday night was awesome to the nth degree.



That's me up front with the black hair... they're playing "Culling Of The Fold" and Colin Meloy is about thirty seconds away from singing the first verse right into my face, his hand at the back of my head. It's not everyday your head gets half-molested by the singer of one of your favorite bands, you know.

They were so much fun to see the day after Obama's overwhelming ass-kicking on Tuesday. The entire crowd was full of Obama fever (chanting "YES...WE...CAN!!!" to bring the band back for their encore, etc.) The band even had a Barack cardboard cutout that crowd-surfed during one song. It was a great way to celebrate after a long election and eight long years of a leader that doesn't speak for anybody except the wealthy and the religiously deluded.

Anyways, I am spending my weekend logging footage for my second job and listening to Decemberist songs... I recommend you all do the same! (The second part anyway) "The Tain" is my favorite.
