ZomBcon was this past weekend. Anytime people get together to celebrate the world of zombies, it has to be good, except for this convention. Now I haven't been to a lot of con's, but I do know what it's like to be at a successful and professional con. The people in charge were unorganized and unprepared for the events of the weekend. At one point Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery, of Boondock Saints fame, showed up as scheduled only to not have a table set up for them to sign autographs or pose for pictures. When I arrived, my wife and I managed to walk around the entire main show floor before the con was even open and not one person questioned why we were walking around or how we got in. The security guards didn't even ask us to wait in the lobby. Instead they just ignored us and left us to wander on our own. The highlight of the weekend was getting to meet the Boondock Saints again (I had met them at Emerald City Comicon). The Zombie Prom was a joke. It felt like I was back in high school. No one mingled outside of their little cliks and the "cool" kids hogged most of the event. My wife and I actually left the prom early because it was just boring and the drinks were over priced. Some of the best things at everyother con is going and sitting down in a panel and getting to directly ask a "celebrity" any question you want. But not here. Several of the panels were either rescheduled or canceled. This is one convention that I don't plan on attending again until they improve how it's ran and fix all the scheduling issues.
