For Christmas my mom got me a fancy shmancy wine opener. It's this really cool contraption that you slip over the top of the bottle, pull the lever forward, then pull the lever back and *wallah* your bottle is open! Sounds cool, huh? Well, it was awesomely cool until I was opening a bottle last night. Everything was going as planned...put the thingy on the bottle, pulled the lever forward, pulled the lever back...then that damn thing broke right off in my hand, which in turn sent my hand like a rocket right into my face. I was sure I had a black eye... but I don't. My left cheekbone is still really sore though.
