Happy 2004! I spent the eve in Madison with friends, just dinner, drinks and fireworks. Low key but a great change of pace. And I somehow managed to stay resonably sober which I am happy for today. I bought a lottery ticket last night (something I never do) and had a lot of fun fantasizing with my friends about what we were going to do with the money. No if's about it. Last night we were positive we had picked the winning numbers, but that remains to be seen. My resolution for 2004 is to be fear free. Let's face it, most of the problems we have in this country are because we're terrified of everything!! So in 2004 I plan to live mindfully, in the moment without fear. Sounds easy, doesn't it? Now I go to spend the rest of the day napping and watching movies. Tomorrow it's back to work then off Saturday and Sunday...and then really back to work. I already feel like I need a vacation.

Edited again to make another comment ... I forgot about Joe Strummer. I feel so ashamed! I'm gonna miss him too.
