A weird thing happened to me tonight... I got a message on my cell from my ex-stepdad apologizing for ever having hurt me. He said it was just a "weird time" and he was sorry. I haven't talked to him for several years. He made my childhood a strange kind of hell but I forgave him (to myself) years ago... since then Ii've just felt sorry for him. He was in Vietnam and I think it really fucked him up. Now that I'm an adult and a parent (and in a stepfamily situation) I understand that. He's only human and had to live through some shit I don't even want to imagine. I guess I'll call him back tomorrow or maybe I'll wait till Monday. I dunno. There's a lot more to the story and his current situation that I don't feel like going into.
