So it's funny how this works but I've figured out that my bad financial habits can be very destructive.

Example A: I never, ever balance my checkbook. This resulted in nearly $300 of overdraft charges last month as I forgot a direct draft was coming out of my account and spent a bunch of money.

Example B: Today I went shopping and spent a good chunk of my bill money on clothes. I should point out that I don't have hot water because my gas was shut off after I forgot to pay the bill. It's been off for a week and instead of paying that bill, I bought a bunch of really random stuff I really didn't need. Guess it's cold showers till next payday.

Example C: The only access my husband has to our bank account is one debit card. I take responsibility for all of our finances because I don't want my spending to be limited and I don't want him to see what I spend money on. It's dumb stuff like having expensive coffee 2 or 3 times a day, going out to lunch everyday, or going to buy one much needed bra and ending up with $200 of random stuff that I don't even remember. I can spend several thousand dollars on shit for the house, clothes, etc. and still not feel satisfied.

Conclusion: I have very little self control. I'm not sure how to resolve these habits but I make enough money that we shouldn't be eeking by paycheck to paycheck.

Second subject: Loaning money to friends really is a bad idea. Especially in large amounts.

Exhibit A: I took a loan out from work and a friend was in a bind. I took out extra... way more than I could afford to and loaned it to her with the expectation that she'd pay it back in February with her income tax refund. She gave me some of it and blew a bunch of money and now I'm thinking I'll never see the rest. More than anything, it's becoming that weird subject that we avoid and it'll probably end up ruining our friendship eventually. Not only that, but she's one of employees and she's now fucked me over by leaving for another job paying $5/hr less and only gave me a one week notice.

Conclusion: Misery loves company.
