I've really been digging the new HBO series 'Big Love'. The idea of polygamy intrigues me. I think it's a great thing for people who can make it work. A friend of ours stayed with us for a couple of months this winter and it was much easier than I'd expected. I truly felt that I coud have very comfortably added her as an additional partner in my relationship. I grew up living in/around a commune, so the concept of group living isn't something foreign to me. Rather, it really appeals to me because I've seen that it can work and can be a ver positive thing. I love my husband and it's not something purely sexual, more the idea of being in a supportive relationship with a group of people that really love and care for each other and then also feeling free to express that love on a physical level. The potential fluidity of love between a larger group overwhelms me in a good way.
Today...now... I think I could share myself and my love. I think I could be comfortable with my husband doing the same. The problem is that this is such an uncommon practice in our society that it's hard to find other people that you're compatible with that are willing to join you in that type of relationship. That and ... ... what if I'm wrong? What if I do have that little angry green core of jealousy? Certainly an easy way to quickly destroy a relationship, isn't it? I suppose I'm not willing to risk that at this point. The fact that I question it either shows that I'm going into it with full heart AND mind, or that it's a sign. Serendipitous polygamy? Haha.
Anyway, the show also has had some really amazing (but brief sex scenes. Bill Paxton may be aging, but I've always thought he was really sexy. I'd stop my grinnin' and drop my linen for him any day. Or butter my muffin because he gets off on being a wanker. Okay, that's enough of that.
Well, I've managed to get totally off track and started searching for pictures of Bill Paxton and somehow ended up looking at pictures of Rob Lowe. I'm not really one for the 80's preppy bastard look, but I've always thought that he was so fucking hot. I'll end this journal entry with a little Rob Lowe goodness for you to reflect on.
