I've been really questioning myself about work lately. I'm a manager and things went really well for me for a while.... high production, high compliance, employees had good morale. Lately things are starting to taper off a little. I really like my job and I have a lot of fun doing it. I think I work with some great staff and I love the customers. It's a really interesting variety of people from all walks of life. There are times when things get pretty crazy (we get our fair share of people in a pretty bad spot in life, so I see a lot of desperation), but I also really believe in what I do. I'm homesick to some degree because I miss the town I came from (hint: Sophie lives there and shot one of her sets there... made me so homesick!). Anyway, the employees there were much different- we were on the same wave length. Sort of alternative, relatively educated, fairly creative, and a sarcastic sense of humor that just seems to confuse the people in this area. Just a nice place to be.

My problem is that I'm having a hard time motivating the people I work with now. It's a very busy environment that can get pretty stressful. They're on their feet all day, it's a highly regulated environment with constant change so there are a lot of rotating rules they have to follow, and while I pay significantly more than most companies in this industry, it's still really not a very high-paying job. Most of the employees have some advance education or are students, but most don't have college degrees. I want them to feel happy at work, but lately I'm just at a loss as to how to make that happen on a VERY restricted budget. It's making me question myself that I can't seem to make it happen.

So... have you ever had a boss you considered to be a really strong manager who really encouraged you and at the same time, made you want the company to do well? What made them such a good boss?

On an unrelated note, I really hate the word moist. There's something about it that makes me feel really uncomfortable. One time in the middle of a... moment... a guy made the comment that I was "so moist" puke Also, while I enjoy watching others (men or women) masturbate, the sound of a man masturbating with a lubricated penis freaks me out. Just put it on mute and cum on my tits, okay?

I can't wait to play three of the new games that come out tomorrow... Stubbs the Zombie (which also has an incredible soundtrack! Check it out.), Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green, and The Warriors (based on the movie). I know, the last two will most likely suck, but I have a thing for zombies and they actually do the "Warrriors, come out and plaayaaaaay!" in the game so that alone has to be worth it.

Apologies for the randomness.

THe thing that made that manager grea to me was that he wasn't above socializing with us. He acted like he was one of us and on our side even though he had to do the bullshit corporate made him do. So that allowed us to sympathise with him on a more personal elvel and when you feel like you're working for someone who understands your plight or is one of you, you work harder for them. If someone acts like, "im the manager you're the worker you do what I say cuz you're my bitch.", the responce is generally not favorable. In my experience anyway.

Yeah, lube sound is pretty gross, or how about the suction/fart noise that I swear only comes from a combo of lube and another person? That is a bit foul too! haha.
