19. The Norwegian Alpine Team - All three medals in Olympic Alpine Combined

Alpine sports. The very name makes my Norwegian blood boil. Cause the so called "Alpine" sports were all invented in Norway, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the Alps.
Slalom is really the Norwegian word slalm (which means sleek downhill slope) and downhill is also an old Norwegian sport, invented in Morgedal, Telemark. Be that as it may, our guys made a clean table.
What: 25. February 1994 the Norwegian team claimed all medals in the Norwegian sport "Alpine" combined (that is they compete in both Slalom and Downhill, and combine the results). Lasse Kjus won, and he later became the first Norwegian to claim an olympic medal in all "Alpine" competitions. Kjetil Andre Aamot and Harald Chr. Strand Nilsen claimed the two next places, while the fans danced the bird dance in pure joy.
Where: Lillehammer, Norway
Why: Not only did Norway establish itself in the absolute world eliteWith this "Grand Slam", it was also the first time in "Alpine" history that three athletes from the same country took the top three places in an olympic competition.
