I'm supposed to have it done today, but I'm going in for an eight hour shift, unless they let me off work early. I doubt they will. I really need the entire day to work on promotions, though. We're getting Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D, and they really, really want us to push it. All of lowside is Christmastown, Highside is supposed to be Halloweentown. Christmastown looks great, but they just had to string up lights. I've had to paint the party room windows, and make a fake banner to put up. Some guys put up fake cobwebs, my friend made a miniture guillitene (I have no clue how to spell that) gate. At 8 I have to work on painting enough stuff to cover probably sixty feet of wall, as well as a couple character cut-outs.
I've spent over 30 hours on window painting alone, which came out as this:
Except imagine that with different characters on 7 windows and then a big painting on the side 3 windows.
And then I have the banner, which I don't have a photo of. I did cutouts yesterday, and painted a lot but I feel like I did nothing 'cause I still have so much to do. I've spent close to 60 hours working on this, my typical schedule for awhile was work in the morning, as soon as I clock-out I go to painting and working on something. I hadn't seen friends in over a week at one point, all the art is on me, I'm increadibly stressed out about it.
And then yesterday my manager, who earlier I had told I couldn't come in due to promotions (which I'm not getting paid for and would much rather work the shift I'm getting paid for), and that I had too much to do. I didn't even finish, not going in yesterday. Anyways, she comes in and starts asking me if I'm going to re-do Jack's face on one of the paintings because it looks scary, what all I'm going to be putting up there (I've never been good with explaining, I've had to just tell these people I'll do the art stuff for that reason). When are we going to finish the doors (which we don't have the paint for because my manager in charge isn't getting me the supplies I need), that they look bad. What all am I putting on Highside, why don't I put some Thanksgiving stuff up there. I wanted to tell her "Are you stupid, don't make suggestions if you've never seen the fucking movie." but I bit my tongue, my friend was getting really mad because she knows how hard I've worked, and she was trying not to yell at her. She told me later it was obvious I was about to cry.
I will probably refuse to do another promotions ever again, this has been such an upsetting experience.
