Alrighty, midway through a semi packed weekend and I've got a god damn headache from last night. Friends birthday, dinner party. I ate drank and was exceptionally merry. Tonight it's another mate who's gone and done a fool thing and proposed to his girlfried of many years
so I'm out on it again tonight.
I picked up Ash's Meltdown the other day from the local tunes store, and I'm not really an Ash fan but cross marketing suckered me in. The track at the end of Republic Commando (Clones) is awesome, so I got the whole disc.
And I was surprised.
The Irish pop rockers grew some teeth, and this is one of the best rock albums I've heard in a long while. Strong riff, awesome guitars solos, and in Clones an opening that kicks your head in and stomps on it a few times for good measure. Something any metal band would be proud of.
The head charge continues on tracks like Meltdown and Detonator, but they've also got some good soft stuff to go with it. An album for the whole family indeed.
Anyways I gotta get out, brave the local shopping centre, and by an engagement gift. And I know they're going to end up with 2000 different wine glasses, so I'm steering clear.
