Excess leads to many things...

One of those things I've is generally not a healthy lifestyle. Not so much of a fit lifestyle either. My recent weekends consumption of food an alcohol has pushed me a little further away from both. Oh, sure, the beer was tasty and the barbecue was delicious. But it makes the scales wince, and the morning jog that much harder.

Morning jog. Its something I hope to make a habit, a routine as it were. Coming home from the US I realised a few lifestyle changes should be in order as the path of the fat American was all mine to wander down. Big servings, fatty burgers, fries, soda. The lot. It made an impact too. Five kilos worth, which I've had a harder time trying to get rid of.

So along comes the change in habits. I'd made a start on a diary to hopefully document what I'm doing and what I'm missing. Unfortunately given last weeks effort what I'm missing is filling out the diary. Among other things.

Here's some background. At 19 years I was very fit, if a little thin. I weighed 20-30 kilos less than what I do now, and as a consequence wasn't big at all, but I was lean. I had the murmurings of a six pack, but no real effort meant no definition. A few years and injuries later and I'm unfit, slow and generally sore. This is what I want to get back. The difference in size means a different physique, and while I'd love to look like a Spartan Warrior, I also realise that it may not be an attainable goal.

So here's to healthy eating, making sure I get a good breakfast. Here's to getting up at 6AM so that I can go jogging. Here's to believing the jogging won't hurt me. Here's to making an effort.

Here's hoping its worth it.

Loving the hurt... seriously. It's amazing how happy and how big I smile when every part of my body is in agony. Not just pain. Agony.
It's so freaking good. I feel alive. Lactic acid ftw!

As for the posters and Secret thing..... I read a book when I was a young teen.
Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want ... By K. Shakti Gawain.
The Secret seems like a reguritated verison of this.

However, I can see your delemia in putting up posters of buff guys in your home.....

You are one of the most patient people I know.

Seriously.

I'm pretty sure I owe you a beer for your efforts.
Oh! I know! I'm like, going to this place in Freo on the 20th. Word has it they make/have/sell beer...
