its been a while since I did one of these...

I have the Chicago Police physical on saturday - which is both a good and bad thing.
I cannot physically run the 1.5 miles in 13.46, the best I am able to do in my current shape is 16.55.
I cannot do 37 sit-ups in 1 minute, I can only do 21-24.
I can pass the 16 in mark in the sit & reach.
and today I learned that I CAN bench press my weight one time!

that last bit was very exciting as I didnt even think I could lift the bar up, let alone do 1 rep - so I am very happy. My monthly weigh-in wasnt supposed to be until 1 week from now, but I had to do it so I could see what I had to bench press.

Im am currently down to 239!
My starting weight was 284 on January 15th.
45 lbs ----- which is freakn crazy!


So, i can pass 2 of the 4 Police POWER tests. Ill show up and do my thing. I know I cant pass, but it would be stupid to not even show up. I really need to show them that I want the job, and the best way to do that is give it my all. If this fails I still have the Cook County test sometime around the end of the year. So all in all I am really excited/happy.

I took the CPD POWER Test today - and just as I suspected only went 2/4. Im not going to make excuses or anything - i just couldnt do it yet. They told me they would give me another shot in about 2-3 months. Hopefully in that time I will be more adequately suited to pass.
