A few days ago my boyfriend and I went to lunch. In the booth behind us was a young couple. The guy looked like the average disheveled young dude, but the girl was a piece of work. I think I counted 6 piercings in her lips alone. Everything on her face clanked as she chewed. I just don't get it. Of course she had the same tired ass Bettie Page hairdo and some t-shirt from some random obscure band, oh, and a spiked dog collar was the crowning touch. To each their own of course, but how hard people try to look "different" seems rather like a sign of insecurity to me.

I guess I kind of went through the same phase when I was young, although not to that extreme, not even close. I grew up with no money in a rich town, and I tried to look as weird as possible to set myself apart from the stuck up kids at my school. But at some point, I just got comfortable with myself and quit trying to be shocking. Maybe that chick will too.

Someone once said to me, "I don't want anyone to look at me and immediately know exactly what I am into", and I think that is a good credo.

In other news, I have become severely addicted to Facebook, and have gotten in touch with people as far back as elementary school, and it has been kind of cool. I am pretty sure Facebook is not considered cool, but I don't really care. Just let me have my fun People actually talk to me there, it is kind of refreshing........
