Sweet Jesus I am done house sitting! It was not really a good week for me, and I am really glad to be home. The first couple of nights were okay, even though it kind of is a pain in the ass to live out of a bag. Then Sadie the Chow, who is 16 bless her doggie heart, started peeing on the floor.........a lot. Thankfully the kitchen floor is stone, so it was easy to clean up, but man, the smell just wouldn't fade. So Sunday night I mopped the floor about 6 times, using almost a whole bottle of Pine Sol, and that helped a little. I was not mad at the dog, she just can't go 9 hours without going out, and my shifts are long on the weekends. So that was gross. I am now soaking my flipflops I wore over there in scalding water and dish soap.

The other dog, Bowie the weenie dog, is cute and entertaining, but has to be in your face ALL THE FUCKING TIME. She also deposited some lovely turds on the living room rug for me, how sweet.

Wednesday night I went out in the garage to wheel the big trash can to the curb. I got that done and tapped the button for the electric garage door opener to lower the door, but it would only go down about 3 feet and then roll back up. After attempting to lower the door manually by hanging from the edge of it, which failed miserably, I realized that if you just hold the fucking button down the door will lower all the way. I am really stupid sometimes.

Sadie the Chow also has a ramp to use instead of going down the deck stairs to the yard, since she is so old and arthritic. She tries to use the stairs anyway, and stumbles a lot, but won't give up. It was really hard for me to watch, so I started helping her up and down the stairs with my hands under her belly to steady her. It amazes me how happy she is, always wagging her tail and smiling.

Of course, I take my dog with me since I spend the night over there. He does really well, just kind of hangs out on the wood floors cooling his belly, and doesn't really interact with the other dogs. Except for last night when he decided he just had to have some lovin' from Sadie. She didn't really mind, but it was funny to watch, as he was humping her FROM THE SIDE. Didn't work out so well. Poor thing.

The one high point of this was when I went upstairs to check out the little girls rooms. The oldest daughter had Hannah Montana posters everywhere last time I was there. Now her walls are totally covered with Beatles posters, and some other ones of just John Lennon. I breathed a sigh of relief

I am now home, and exhausted, as is my pooch. I am getting reacquainted with my cats, they are giving me the cold shoulder for being gone so long
