BIG WHINY BABY POST.........
So I am on my feet at work about 45 hours a week. Add to that the fact that I run several times a week, and take my dog on long walks. Not to mention the fact that I am a hillbilly and go barefoot whenever I can. All of this put together explains why my feet hurt..........sometimes a lot. Now I am no pussy, I have a huge pain tolerance, but lately every step I take, no matter what shoes I am wearing, feels like I am walking barefoot on sharp rocks. Not fun. I went to see my chiroprator last week, and he told me I definitely have a pretty bad case of Plantar Fasciitis, which means there is too much stress on some connective tissue that pretty much covers the bottom of your foot. He did some deep tissue massage on the bottoms of my feet, and it hurt so fucking bad I broke into a sweat. So, I get to put my feet in ice water for 8 minutes a day (try it, it hurts like hell), and I just ordered these god awful little splints for my paws that keep them in a certain position when I sleep. Plus, I have altered the way I walk to alleviate some of the foot pain, which in turn is making my knees and hips hurt. Basically, I am falling apart. Golf balls are my new best friend, I roll them around under my feet to break some of this shit up, kind of a do it yourself foot massage. It's helping.
On a lighter note, I have the next two days off, and can't wait to relax and hopefully float in the pool. I am going to try to get some running in, but it doesn't look good. I have also decided to let go of some stupid shit I worry about all the time, and accept the fact that there are some things I just can't change. Truthfully I really do have a lot of things in my life that make me happy, and I appreciate all of them. Good friends, a safe place to live, a reliable car, the coolest dog in the world, good music, and happy memories. These are the things that matter to me, foot pain be damned
I am now going to get naked and fall asleep watching true crime shows on Court TV. Goodnight.
