i was talking with a guy friend recently about the significance of having a toothbrush at someones house.
this tends to mark a certain point in a relationship.
but why?
a toothbrush is cheap, needed, and really easy to throw away. why is it such a big deal to have a toothbrush at someones house/apt?

it's not a big deal unless one makes it a big deal.

maybe it's cuz of the personal space thing. isn't the bathroom considered a really personal space (the bedroom too ofcourse). so having someone elses toothbrush is like a welcome to your personal space.

i dunno, but one time my friend asked me if she can borrow my razor so she can shave her bikini line....now that definitely is a mark that our friendship is closer. puke

Yeah, I keep some unopened ones, because people stay at my house all the time. People I don't even know. As long as they don't look shifty, like they'll steal my stuff, I don't mind. So if you all are ever in my area, and need somewhere to stay, I'll have a toothbrush waiting.
