I don't have to go through the interview on Wednesday - I just received an offer this morning - that amounts to a promotion and a pay raise from my old job. I had a five hour interview on 11/13 - and they called me this morning and offered me the job. Funny - but the interview was so adversarial that I really did not expect to get an offer. I have two direct reports - one male, one female. The male was noncommittal and "soft' and the female was tough as nails. This job is going to be a challenge.

The start date is 12/24, so I get paid for the holidays - sweet! And I get benefits effective on the start date. Who could ask for more?

Jobs like this are few and far between - so I am incredibly lucky. I thought I would have to take a demotion to get my foot in the door. Relocating is a bitch - you never know what hand you can get dealt.

So much for my having some time off. But frankly - I was worried about expenses since the relocation money is limited and maitaining two houses is EXPENSIVE.

I spent this last week packing. On Thursday they haul it all away and this weekend the cleaners will come in and do their magic.

A new life with my "old love". They say that home is where the heart is. I can hardly wait to be home...
