Being a Narcotics Investigator for the Galactic Federation and recognised by my superiors as being amongst the best in the field, I have been issued with orders along with an interstellar scoutcraft to single handedly crack a suspected drug ring in the Aleph Cygni Star System.
The Federal Police Force has become aware of an extremely large flow of illicit narcotics, mainly Satophil-d from the tiny Aleph Cygni System. As individual worlds are supposed to police these matters themselves, there has developed some concern that all is not well with the Aleph Cygni Administration.
With the obvious failure of the local administration to deal with this breach of Federal Law my department, Federal Central (Vice), has decided to send a Grade 1 Investigator to locate the source of this drug flow, penetrate the organistation responsible and then destroy it. I have been chosen to be that Grade 1 Investigator!
Because of the possible untrustworthiness of the Aleph Cygni authorities, I will have to travel to the system incognito, posing as an interstellar salesman with a cargo of exotic off-world fruit, spices and luxuries. Once I'm in the system, I'm on my own. Let's go!!
FIVE MINUTES TO HYPERSPACE TERMINATION
Flashes up on the command vidi screen in front of me. An alarm bell chimes softly through the ship. In a few moments I'll be entering the Aleph Cygni system and if there has been any criminal infiltration into the Galactic Vice Squad, there could be a very hot reception.
FOUR MINUTES TO HYPERSPACE TERMINATION
Swivelling in my crash couch, I run a check through the spacecraft's weapon systems: PHASERS - Check; SMART MISSLES - Check; SHIELDS - Check. Pretty hefty stuff for a travelling salesman, though no-one's to know, unless I have to use it. Until such time, my cover should remain fully intact. I begin to charge up the conventional drive of my craft, raise the anti-spy beam shield and grit my teeth for the stomach twisting end to hyperspatial travel.
PREPARE FOR INSERTION INTO REAL SPACE & TIME
The bottom drops out of the spacecraft, I follow at some super-light speed....ssshhhhh. Everything flies back together and is once again, apart from the hangover I seem to have developed in the last moment, back to normal. There, on the screen in front of me, is the Aleph Cygni system. The Yellow star, Aleph Cygni and itssingle planet, Kether. My Computer informs me that Kether is a habitable world consisting of vast expanses of ocean. Apart from a few scattered islands only one major continental land mass exists. Circling the planet is a small pock-marked moon called Rispin's End. A vast asteroid belt surrounds Kether forming rings around the planet.
I now have a choice, where do I begin. This is where you decide the direction my adventure takes.
In essence I have 3 choices.
1) The obvious choice. Land at the Major Spaceport on Kether and begin my investigation from there hoping no infiltration leads to an immediate reception committee aware of my intentions.
2) Head for the Moon, Rispin's End. Trying to focus on a more subtle approach to information gathering and infiltration and avoiding any tip-offs on the main spaceport.
3) Take a look at these asteroids forming the rings around the planet. Maybe a little check around here maybe of use before heading for the Spaceport or Moon.
