as we get older and stop making sense...

one more week before the move.
in other news,

i have met some amazing people off this site...
i got a raise at my job
i still hate driving
and yes

i still like vodka.

so..
some interesting films i have seen in the last few months.
Some i have seen before, and a few were first timers.

1) "Calvaire".. otherwise known as The ordeal
i liked it but i'm not recommending it.
its a bit grim and gloomy, sort of like a euro modernized version of "Deliverance" with some beastiality thrown in,
i think i spelled that wrong. Anyway, its not overly graphic but its worth a look for the most bizarre dance scene in a bar ever shot.
2) "The candy snatchers"... if you like seventies drive in/grindhouse flicks, then get your hands on this one.
its comical and decently shot.
3) "Shivers" a.k.a "They came from within"
early cronenberg film about a parasite on the loose in a posh 70's condo complex, and this parasite can only go from host to host in naughty ways... starring the legendary Barbara Steele and that elfin like gamine Lynn Lowry (who seemed to make it her misssion to be in a lot of cheesy exploitation films from this era)
4) "murderball"... took me long enough to catch this documentary...
I loved it! Inspirational movie about wheelchair rugby, and a few tracks from Ministry on the soundtrack
5) also rewatched "Night of the comet"
still think this 80's cult classic is a fun watch, its about two sisters in california who survive a comet blast that kills off a hefty amount of people and turns them into zombies. Of course their father was a green beret, so they like.. no how to shoot guns and stuff.
6) "Blood Diamond" this one was a bit depressing, but thought the performances were really good...
strangely enough, i thought Leonardo Dicaprio did a better english accent than his boston one in "The departed"
7) "Frankenhooker"... and how many times have i mentioned this one?
cheesy fun for the whole family! I think i have watched this movie about twenty times by now,
but even FancyD thought it was very entertaining biggrin
8) "Rabid" another early cronenberg film, which i finally saw again since first seeing it in highschool...
Marilyn Chambers survives a motorcycle accident and gets an expirimental skin graft which proceeds to grow some tiny teeth under her armpit surreal anyway, she starts biting people with it and next thing you know,
they all become rabid. I still think it was pretty decent, but i actually liked "Shivers" better.
9) A tale of two sisters... creepy korean film which is quite a bit of a mind fuck..
great cinematography, and excellent acting.
10) "Schultz gets the blues"... not recommending this one,
kind of slow moving, and even though i didnt dislike it, i was hoping it would get better...
good concept which fell kind of flat.

anyway, my computer died again, so im typing this entry on D's...

I hope you are all doing okay.

sometimes i miss it on here.

xxoo
