my week in a nutshell...
exploding toilet pipe
get my period (painfully i might add)
soaring temperatures (up to a hundred)
mini hurricane
(i'm from new england... we're used to blizzards not hurricanes
)
power outage
no electricity at work today meant no air conditioner
insane traffic due to power outage and no traffic lights
broken fallen down trees obscuring roads
bloat
a craving for icecream that wont go away
lightning
thunder
alcohol
more alcohol
lots of sweating
smelling cake being made in my very own kitchen, but i'm not the one baking it..
and it is not to be eaten by me either..
not enough sleep
it is safe to say that my week sucked..
but here is the one good thing that happened to me this week
i purchased a movie
and not just any movie...
i got one of my favorite modern cult films on dvd
"Cemetery Man" a.k.a "Dellamorte Dellamore"
part zombie film, part black comedy and throw in a good ol fashioned love story!
cheesy, fun and wonderfully bizarre,
this surreal little gem was released in 1994 and even impressed a handful of grumpy film
critics around the globe.
It centers around a cemetery watchman by the name of Francesco Dellamorte (wonderfully played by
Rupert Everett) whose job is to watch over the grounds and kill any of the living dead when they rise from
the graves .... because uhh.. thats just what the dead do when buried in the Buffalora Cemetery
but soon things become complicated when he falls for a young lusty widow (the stunning Anna Falchi)
and his dimwitted assistant isn't much help because he's fallen for a young lady himself... only this one is
merely a head (though very much alive and eager for some good conversation)
will either of them find happiness?
Will Dellamorte become unhinged by his obsession with the widow?
will the bodycount stop rising?
are Anna Falchi's breasts even real?
these questions and more can be answered if you ever decide to be brave enough to ever trust my
strange little film recommendations
it was my little silver lining..
