Years ago, when i lived in N.Y.C,
I was walking past "Kim's video" in the east village, i noticed in the window that they had Pasolini's film "Salo, or the 120 days of Sodom"
and it was on sale!
I had never seen the film before......and i stood outside for what seemed like an eternity, debating on purchasing this rare find ( back then, it was pretty rare to come across)
I decided against it, and sometimes i regret the decision.
But i know that it is the kind of movie that gets under peoples skin
and stays there
so perhaps i was just considering how overly sensitive i can be
or maybe i was too scared to give away a little piece of my soul in exchange for viewing what many consider a work of art, and many more consider what perhaps is one of the most vile portraits of evil in the history of film.
To this day i haven't seen it.
I suppose there are some dark dreary places i just don't want to visit.
Have you ever seen a film that bent your mind?
