Was talking to a friend a work a few weeks back, and they'd witnessed an event that was very upsetting, and I'm paraphrasing but they basically asked if anyone had any humanity still left in them.
And I totally get that feeling. The world is on fire, everything keeps getting more and more expensive and broken, it seems like everything is us versus them (country vs country, political side vs other political side, etc...), and no one is coming to save us. I've even heard people say that humans aren't meant to cooperate, that it's "survival of the fittest".
To that I say, you brainwashed ignorant fucks, how the HELL do you think we've survived as a species? Cooperation is what enabled that to happen! The only way we survive this (gestures around at EVERYTHING) is by working together. And yes, I know that's scary, that for a lot of people they wish they could just put their head down and hope that everything goes away.
I'm here to tell you that's not going to work. Never has, never will. And if you're looking around for the light in others, and you can't seem to see any, then it's up to you to be a beacon for those who know you. Be the light, and let your light inspire others. A single candle can light so many others without losing its light. Be that candle.
