the owner of the casino I work at has been buddying up to Drumpf (his nose is so far up the president's ass that when he farts the casino owner tastes it and farts it along) because rich people stick together (even threw a rally at one of his other casinos), and this week they mandated that no one (not even people who are sick) can wear a mask at work, which is complete bullshit.
Now, if you jumped through all their hoops, you could possibly maybe on a temporary basis get authorized to wear one, but for most of us who've been wearing one since the pandemic, it's a slap in the face. The only real reason they did this is to show they have control over us (my director even telling one long time employee who was also wearing a mask that as good as they were, maybe they should start looking for work if wearing a mask is that big a deal...), and no you can't change my mind.
Even the culinary union didn't make a fuss about this "mandate" (which doesn't break dress code at work, I checked the employee manual), so even if I was in a union (and I'm not) they wouldn't have protected me either. My immediate boss could tell I was pissed this morning (my first day back after the mandate went into effect), but I know that he's just as powerless as I am when it comes to stuff like this.
I fucking hate this job and I fucking hate this town that flip flops on a dime, I swear to the Gods. Just pissed the fuck off.
