Was talking to some coworkers about how I work a 6th day every other week, and one said, "He's trying to get ahead!" while another said, "No, he's probably trying to give his kids a good Xmas."
"It's neither of those things," I told them. "If I didn't work that 6th day, I would have to get a 2nd job. Plus, working that day just barely keeps me afloat, and every week I sink just a little bit further, no matter what I do."
I turned to the other one. "And no, for the 2nd year in a row I can't get my kids anything. They're adults now, they get it; plus, it's not like I'm blowing my money on drinking, smoking, gambling or drugs. And they know that. It is what it is."

I don’t get overtime so the 6th day is a freebie 🤦♂️After 20 months “off” I’m not complaining though! Not how I pictured this time of life! 🍀
