Thoughts about going forward...

I took one of those personality tests today to try and see what fields I would be good at, because I've been in gaming for over 26 years now (over half my life), and I'm just so tired.
Surprise surprise (not really), it said that I'm an idealistic creator, and I'll post four paragraphs that I think really sum me up well (it also said I'm a INFJ which is also not surprising LOL):
You are concerned with being true to your values and living authentically. For you, work is an opportunity to express what is important and meaningful to you. You are deeply in touch with your ideas and emotions, and want a career that allows you to connect with a larger purpose.
You are a naturally empathic person and want a job that allows you to feel that you are contributing to the world in a positive way. You easily sense suffering, and thus you are deeply motivated to bring peace and beauty to the people around you.
You tend to be insightful and introspective. You are interested in exploring complex issues, especially when they have a personal or moral impact. You can easily see how things could be improved, and you are motivated to do your part in making the world a better place.
You are drawn to work that allows you to express your unique vision. You want to be an individual and come up with original ideas. You like a lot of freedom in your work so that you can do what inspires you.
I'm not sure what my next step is, but all I know is that I need a change (unfortunately, one that still keeps me from living on the streets), because I haven't felt alive (or happy) in many years, and it's only my promise to my kids that has kept me here this long (otherwise, I'd have been dead years ago). Now that I've admitted to myself that I need to change, I'll have to see what my next step is...

fullfeeling:
It costs money, but my GF is a big proponent of the Johnson O'Connor test.  it changed her life after college, putting her into a much better career for her than the one she got a degree for.  And when her kid took it it helped them choose what I think will be a much more rewarding major for them.
