Have to be disciplined

A couple of friends at work were asking what I like to snack on (I think they were actually fishing for gift ideas, but that's neither here nor there), and one finally said, "Well, what do you snack on while watching TV?" I answered nothing, and then they asked, "What about movies?" My answer was still the same, so they asked why.
I told them I'm a depressive with suicidal tendencies and an addictive personality. I HAVE to be disciplined, otherwise things in my life would go very very bad.
It's why I don't snack on things, it's why I don't drink, it's why I have routines that I follow religiously. Just 1 slip would send me down a slope where I end up an obese alcoholic with a host of financial and health issues.
Yes, I'm tightly wound, but I'm still here, so that's something (I guess)...

No making amends. No regrets. No apologies. I think that type of meeting would attract an awful lot of people like us. We didn't choose to be what we are. It was inflicted upon us.
