Sure, some of them are completely sentimental (my Wheel of Time series, my old Dragonlance books) that I would never sell, but others I had been holding onto in case my kids wanted to read them growing up. Well, they're grown and they didn't.
(This isn't anything against them, I never wanted my kids to like what I like just cuz I do -or cuz I made them- but it's just accepting reality and that they never got into them)
I just wish there was a job where someone could take your old stuff and sell it for you for good value, keeping a commission. Yeah, they do for estates and things like art, boats and cars, but none for little things that a collector still might want. Oh well, I will just have to figure it out...

Believe me, I envy happily married, dug-in types, too, @fullfeeling ... like my older brother. Part of me always wanted that life. But most of me knew it wasn't for me.

@jacleric - that's so much of the key: figuring out what is and isn't actually for you. Then accepting and living it without resentment, and letting others have what's for them without resentment.
