So I usually try to stay away from talking about stuff like this, but I feel like it, so deal.

I have a difficult decision to make when my absentee ballot arrives. I know with every fibre of my being that I AM NOT IN ANY FUCKING WAY going to vote for Bush, but then, I'm torn between the remaining candidates.

I am half-tempted to write in Howard Dean, the man I think is best-suited to the job, but then, he's not going to win the election, because he's not even on the ballot.

And I really don't want to vote for Kerry. I hate the idea of voting for the "lesser of two evils"... and yes I know some of my liberal friends are going to say he's "just what this country needs", but I honestly don't think that way. Kerry, if he wins, isn't going to win because he's the best man for the job, he'll win because people are going to vote for him because they don't want Bush in office.

By simply proving that he's better than Bush in ANY WAY, he's won a good portion of voters.

I know that voting independent will split up the "Democratic" vote, and make it more likely for Bush to be re-elected, but I think I'd feel like I was selling out if I voted for Kerry/Edwards.

What would be my ideal candidate, you may be asking...

He (or she, in an "ideal world) would have to come from the middle or working-class, and worked his (or her) ass off to get through a prestigious law school, like Harvard or Yale.

He (or she) would support women's reproductive rights, stem cell research, gay rights, and a laisez-faire foreign policy except under extreme circumstances.

He (or she) would be young (35-45), and would be religious, but not Christian, because Christianity is all about conversion and "morals"... I would prefer a UU, but if I couldn't have a UU, then I'd rather an atheist.

He (or she) would also work avidly to protect and preserve the environment, and would support research that would lessen our dependence on fossil fuels.

He (or she) would also be for disbanded the "Office of Homeland Security" and would work toward reducing the national deficit.

Do you think I'm asking too much? smile

Make sure that you put two 37-cent stamps on your absentee ballot envelope. I read an article online that stated that some ballots are being returned to sender because they require at least 60 cents of postage based on their weight and size.

Oh crap! I hope I don't get mine back. I only had one stamp on it frown
