Chester Bennington left 4 years ago and since then the 20th of July has always been a sad day for me. Ironically, on this date, Friendship Day is celebrated.
Of course the world has lost young artists before, but there are few losses of famous people that have hit me personally like the loss of Chester. For me, Chester was a great artist and a symbol of fighting depression and his losing that battle hurts me deeply.
At age 9, Linkin Park was already my favorite band, I didn't understand a word of English but Chester's interpretation with Mike's rap made me shiver. Later when I found out what the lyrics said I admired it even more.
I hope wherever Chester is he has found peace and vanquished his demons. I would like him to know how his lyrics and his voice help me beat mine.
