Stop right where you are
Your presence is requested
We only have a moment
to get right to the start
We'll fly kites in the park
and watch them float away away away
I said the things I dreamed of
and kissed you on the face
The blossum is cracking
The future looks bright
We only have a moment
to get right to the heart...

After I wrote that I went back to sleep until 11:30. Now that felt good. I'm realizing that I probably won't get the cats taken care of until Monday, so that's a weight off my shoulders. And then... my sister just called and she has about 2 1/2 hours of layover time at SFO so I'm gonna go see her. That always cheers me up. smile

And then I'm gonna go bowling and stuff with the SGSF kids. Yay.

Went back to play in the streets today. Recouped my bus pass. Froze my ass off. Most people were more interested in the car accident a block away. Old black lady with scotch tape glasses gave me homework to learn some christmas music and some gospel. Persian tourists gathered around me on all sides while they shouted in foreign-tounged awe about the El Capitan theater...

Just got back from Hollywood & Highland. I found out that I didn't get that one job I was waiting to hear back on, so I thought it would be better to get out of the house & do something than sit around and dwell on it. Plus, I'd been talking about street performing for so long I figured I should do it.

$3...

I was going to join my friends for the Doo Da parade in Pasadena last Sunday but instead I helped my friend, Phil, move. Jeff & Mona were hosting the Higland Park Circuit Bending Gentleman's Society and Women's Auxiliary. Basically, they formed a marching band where everyone was playing home-made electronic toys. I've never been to that parade, but I guess it's pretty crazy.

Anyway,...

Weekend Update:

Friday, Glen & I went to Mr. T's Bowl to have a few beers and saw a couple bands, but nothing remarkable. The bands weren't bad, they just weren't doing it for me.

Glen & I went back to my place and drank Scotch while listening to the Minutemen until about 3.

The exciting development is Glen has three guitars that he never...

There is now a huge hex... I was and still am infuriated. mad Bah humbug. Christmas cheer fucking sucks.

Sounds like it was a very entertaining weekend for you. I think you should become a writer. You are good with description words.

I felt like I was there, man!

Thanks for the comment on my set! wink

I think I'm going to play some tunes at Mr. T's open mike night on Tuesday. I've been playing a lot of popular tunes from my heroes which, lately, means a lot of Tom Waits. I look at it as a study, like reproducing a master's painting. Of course, I'm no Tom Waits, but I'm learning a lot about his writing and bringing the songs...

This is a post where I really wish I had a digi camera.

Friday, I was supposed to meet my friend to go on a ride with the Midnite Ridazz. It's a group that's an offshoot of the Bicycle Kitchen. The bicycle kitchen is a community place where people can go to work on their bikes and learn from others.

The Midnite Ridazz meet...

Kicked ass on my psych test. %92. Teacher's still a bonehead. She thinks lithium is naturally produced in the body. I'm seriously thinking about printing up some studies and dropping them off during her office hoursand thanking her for inspiring me to research it. She's so far behind in the syllabus that we're cramming another three chapter test in next week. I think I'm learning...

It's turned out to be an interesting week so far.

Tuesday, The Shards played at The Scene over in Glendale. It was anticipated to be a painful show since we were booked in the 11:30 slot on a Tuesday night, but it ended up being OK.

The other bands were Birdie, & Breakfast in Japan. Birdie was a folksie outfit with keyboards, drums, and acoustic...

Haven't written in a while. Spent the whole weekend goofing off. Friday, I hung out with my old roommate, Andrew. The best roommate I ever had. We had a few beers and watched the Lakers. They really suck now. Kobe is a brat.

Then, we sat around and played guitars. I got...
