Our show really went well on Sunday. obd even showed up as well as Wan, but he was too late. There wasn't a huge crowd, since it was a Sunday, but it was cozy.

We showed up at 8 and couldn't park in the driveway by the door to load in because there was another van sitting there. It turned out to be Bleach 03, a group of young Japanese girls who rocked psychotically.

Finally, the bartender shows up to let us in and we find out that we've been moved to 2nd, which really worked in our favor. Nick & I walked to the convenience store for smokes, snacks and to work of the pre show jitters.

The first band, The Quirks, were pretty much straight ahead punk. They were all decked out with matching black t-shirts and red pants. They also had these crazy lights on top of their amps.

Then we went on. No nonsense. I had to borrow my pal Glen's amp until I can get mine fixed. There were a few mistakes, but I told the guys about planning on making mistakes so that when they happen you will recover quickly and maybe even get a laugh out of it. It couldn't have gone better because we just relaxed and had a good time. There were a few times were I even got emotional rather than just performing.

Afterwards, we got great feedback. People liked the way we mixed up the styles so the set doesn't sound like one big song. I bought Michelle, a friend of Cater's, a beer and chatted with her a while. She is into management and I was telling her how much I'd love to hand off the booking and promotion to someone else so I can focus on the creative side. She said she'd come to a few more shows and we could talk about it.

We need merch. No CDs. No t-shirts, stickers, panties, etc. I am about to start on that stuff, but I'm still getting it together after the unemployment.

After us was the Juarez Crime Scene. They were pretty good, but they didn't seem very happy, like it wasn't a good enough setting for them. Maybe it was an off night. They had really cool guitars and were nice guys. I gave one of them a card and talked about playing future shows together.

We were going to load out then and go home, but Nick wanted to see the crazy Japanese band, which was great. They had a lot of spastic changes and manic feels. The problem was Nick's ex-wife walked in the door right before they started playing. She knew we were going to be there and probably got a kick out of it. Nick asked me if we should leave and I said, "Why? What difference would it make?" So we ended up staying. I told him this was going to happen sooner or later.

She ended up leaving after the Japaenese band. I stole the show poster and had the band sign it. Then, we ended up staying for the Red Onions because we didn't want to load out while they were playing. They had a good set, but weren't into it becuase there weren't very many people there. I think that sucks. A good band is a good band whether the place is packed or not.

We stayed afterwards, talking with the bartender. Our friend, the Pope showed up and started buying tequila shots. Then, we closed the place.

Nick maintained his composure until we unloaded back at the studio, but then he went home & lost it. Poor guy. I can't wait until he's over her.

I need to book some more shows now.
