I haven't been updating as regularly now that I am in the work force, mainly because there's less to write about. No worries, I'll keep it going.

Last Thursday, I took advantage of my new schedule by going to the St. Patrick's Day Parade, which I've never been to. It was a lot more fun than I expected, It's a better parade than the Chinese parade, less spread out and the pace is a bit peppier.

I parked at the garage at my gym & walked over to Pershing Square, where the whole thing was starting. I ran into Gus, Roy, & Patty, which was a really nice surprise. I didn't think I'd see anyone I knew.

They made the fountain green. surreal

Edie McClurg!

Propellor boat!

Hooligans!

Spiderman vs. The Green Mohawk

Big straw hat dancers? surreal

SUV=WWIII

The big, green bus.

Tinies doing the funny Irish jig dance.

granny panties...

Kilt dude.

After the parade, I went with Gus & Roy to the Grand Ave bar in the Biltmore, which is a beautiful building. We had a black & tan and then I headed off to work. Yeah, beer lunch.

After work, I got a bunch of people to meet at the Tam O'Shanter. We had a couple drinks and then they closed at 12am with a full bar! I couldn't believe it. What's a matter, they don't like money?

So, we ended up strolling down the street to the crowded Bigfoot. We had one round before calling it a night.

Friday night I stayed home because the van wasn't running so hot and I didn't want to have to deal with parking. It's really bad in my area. Sometimes, when I get home from practices or shows, I have to park three blocks away.

Saturday, I just ran errands. Then, I went over to the Punk Haus to pay back Misti the $40 I owed her. I stayed to hang out, watching The Incredibles. Misti fell asleep, drooling on the naugahyde, so I finished my beer and headed home. I was going to take it easy again because I didn't know of anything going on and money is tight right now.

Then, my friend Carter calls me and tells me about a Ro Sham Bo (?) party under the 1st St. bridge. I've never seen a Rock Paper Scissors competition, so I decided I'd have to check it out. I threw a couple Pyramid's into my tank bag and rode down there.

There was quite a scene going on. Scooby's was giving out free hot dog's and it was really interesting seeing all the alterna-hip lining up for meaty treats. I went up to the crowd to see a round of the competition. Some guy with a Kermit puppet beat some gurl Rock>Scissors.

I turned around and was surprised to see the lovely Lillitatiana. We chatted briefly and got a beer. I'm glad to see she's feeling better.

I hung out with Carter and his friend and then the party was dying out. So I rode home in light drizzle which went away when I was halfway home.

Sunday, I overslept and had to run out the door to make rehearsal. The bass player didn't show up, again mad I wish he'd at least call. If he keeps it up this way, I'm going to have to replace him. He's holding us back.

I puttered around the house for a few hours and then Glen & I went to the Edendale for dinner. I had a BLT salad and the flat iron steak. It's so good. I love butter lettuce.

I heard back from my Dad about the CD I sent him for his birthday. He took it upon himself to give me unsolicited advice in that, "all that hard rock you're doing is killing any subtlety. You should listen to that Ry Cooder CD you gave me, the interpretation of the Irish fiddle song, for example."

I should know better. Anytime you make a creative investment, be very wary of your family & close ones. Anyone else can say what they want and it's easier to deal with it. Close ones tend to pull your strings. The only musical compliments I get from the old man are things like, "that's really interesting". I think he has a hard time giving me praise because he's either inadequate or he feels like I'm showing him up. It saddens me.

Know thy self.

I'm still getting used to my new schedule. I like it, but I still have to work on it so that I can get some good practice time, which seems to have to take place in the morning. I'll try and update more regularly.

damn your work for keeping you away! robot

dood, you have lots of interesting photos and things to say but when you put them all together in one very long and okay i'll say it: one very COLOSSAL journal entry it's very hard for people like me (with limited attention spans) to go through all of it.

your comment on this photo made me laugh. "granny panties?" how do you know unless you snuck a peek? naughty naughty.
