Christmas subdued. Nice dinners w/ friends. I didn't ask for much. I drove out to Vegas to hang w/ Mom for a few days. Just ate, drank, and talked. I'm not much of a gambler.

I ended up having to stay an extra day because my starter died. I was going to take the motorcycle, but when I left it was raining. They were cool about it at work and let me use a sick day. I like Vegas, but the sketchy element is very different than LA. More hard luck, down and out scam artists. LA is more skanky in a cultural way that I love.

NYE was cool. I went to a party someone at work was throwing. I didn't want to go, but it was actually fun. The plan was to improve relations with the hostess. We ended up taking off abruptly to catch the Adolescents at my friend's loft party downtown. We caught the last three songs and it was like a reunion. Lots of people from the Al's bar era I hadn't seen in a while.

The hash brownie kicked in and we went to work on the case of beer we brought. 400 Blows was playing their next to last show and things get a little fuzzy after that. I spent the night on my drummer's floor.

We went to Disneyland on Sunday for my upcoming birthday. The birthday sticker only got me birthday greetings from people. No special event that I've heard happening to others. Maybe it was because we reeked of liquor.

Someone was out yesterday at work, so I went in early. I ended up doing 12 hours and I'm still a little spun. I have to cruise down to the shop to pickup my van. New master cylinder and a power steering hose. No biggie.

I've been writing a lot lately. I think I have four new songs. I'm going to start booking shows again. We've been getting requests on Indie 103.1.

There's a TON of shit going on this weekend. A collective birthday party on Friday. Brunch Saturday. Gabriel's Shriner & Showgirl party at El Cid Saturday night. I'm taking a vacation day on Monday for Dr. King and my birthday. It should be a national holiday. Absolutely.
