Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the states, happy Thursday to those of you outside the states (hang in there...it's almost the weekend!) and general "Hi!" to my new followers.
I've decided this year to make a giant pot of coquitos to accompany dinner. They're essentially a Puerto Rican eggnog (more coconut and less egg in mine). I figure they're not even remotely traditional, but the rum won't hurt and psychologically drinking a tropical drink makes pretending I'm not freezing my ass off easier.
This also marks the first full winter I've been stuck home all season. I usually travel to New Zealand and the Antarctic around this time of year. So no cool travel pix...but maybe I'll manage to do some recreational travel instead.

Btw NZ is gorgeous and home to possibly the world's coolest people. During one of the big quakes, one of my friends was more worried about not going to work than the fact half the city fell down. Priorities, I guess! Having survived dozens of quakes and aftershocks and a freakin' tornado, christchurch still feels like my second home :)
