So this weekend my friends and I decided that since everyone else we know is in a band, its about time we learned how to play some instruments and have some fun. I had an old bass guitar lying around that was a gift, that I just never learned how to play yet, and my friend Jen has a drum setup and has been learing from her boyfriend for about 6 months. Since he also plays guitar and bass its only natural for me to head out to NJ and get jacked in and start playing. Add in our friend Megan on guitar and we have a trio with the occasional add-in from their boyfriends. We got together for the first time saturday and had a great time. I need to relearn how to read music, but we worked with some tabs and the stereo and actually played a couple of songs.

Sunday I was out shopping and decided to pop into a music store and well low and behold I now have a brand new Dean Edge bass guitar!

I am intent on not letting this be a quick couple of weeks and then let something get in the way - I intend to keep playing for real now and probably get some books or videos or something so I can really play.

In other news, Dumonts in Williamsburg has some SLAMMING Macandcheese! Shiki Sushi still has the best spicy tuna in all of NYC, and March 23 I am headed out to Vegas!
