i made the biggest mistake.

yesterday i watched a mighty heart. its the story of daniel pearl, a US journalist living in pakistan. he was kidnapped in 2002 by a group of people calling themselves "the national movement for the restoration of pakistani sovereignty". they held daniel prisoner and made a series of demands of the US. two weeks later, they beheaded him. i guess this was a big deal at the time, but i dont remember ever hearing about it.

anyway, i tend to get obsessed with tragedy. movies that are true stories totally fascinate me and i want to know more about them. so i spent quite a long time online today reading about daniel's story. then i accidently stumbled upon a video of his beheading. and i fucking watched it. THAT was the mistake. i have the weakest stomach and i am very sensitive. i dont like violence at all. i dont know what compelled me to watch it- i guess it was curiosity- but i totally regret it now. it's been haunting me all day.

yuck. seriously. fucking yuck.
