There are so many great quotes from Gurren Lagann, one of my all-time favorite anime. For those unfamiliar, it follows the story of a boy with no confidence as he grows into a man that leads humanity into the stars to fight back against the oppressive forces that forced them, literally, underground. It is a story of great friendship, of relying on others until you have the confidence to rely on yourself, and of never giving up. To keep turning and rising, ever onwards, like the spiral of the drill.
I think especially in today's environment, where oppression and nationalism are on the rise, it's important to remind ourselves to keep spinning. Keep moving forward, little by little. Eventually we will break through to the other side, but only if we stay true to ourselves and keep going. Never give up!
