I love blogging on company time (but not foolish enough to do it on company equipment). Stick it to the man!!!!!!! Hahaa
So, this past sunday I ran in marathon. Maybe the best race I have ever done. Good day for it..legs felt good, weather was good (rain - which I know most of you aren't fond of, but when your running 21 km it helps).
Beat my best time by a min (1:28:55) and killed my last time by 5 minutes. A goal this year was to break the 40 minute mark in a 10 k race. I actually broke it in this race which is absurd. So, finished 5th out of 143 people - not too shabby. The guy who won would be a legit canadian national team guy... Barbigirl finished 4 seconds away from finishing top 3 in the womens 5 km...and get this - she stopped during the race to pee!!! Wtf???!!
At most races they have RMA students doing free massage. I almost never get one, but decided today I would. There are probably 6 girls (decent looking enough to rub legs) and 1 dude. Yep...I got the dude. But hey, I am man enough to let some other guy massage my quads ahhahh...
Ok, so enough about my racing obsession. Gonna be a beautiful weekend...might take the kids and dog to a dog friendly beach around here. Also, vacation next week....yeahhh. Not really doing much, re-do deck, paint garage door...exciting I know!!! Barbi has to work. We are going camping for 2 nights though....and of course another race. Might take the boys to a Tigers game...haven't been to there new park - wait not so new park - yet.
Oh funny storey...my co-worker - young corporate kiss ass who I wanna smack half the time - started riding his bike to work - mountain bike, and was complaining it was too tough to pedal. Got into discussion of road bikes etc...and told him a quick easy upgrade to his mountain bike would be to throw some slicks on it (tires that are skinny with less tread - more like road bike). I recommended a shop and told him they would be 20-25 a tire. He comes back an hour later with pro slicks - 160 for the pair - worth more than his bike. They had the 25 dollar ones, but he thought the pro racing ones were better...sure they are if you race!!! Anyway, looks up tires on amazon...way cheaper. I preach to him he should buy local...so he goes back to the shop and says he wants them @ the amazon price...they laugh ..he returns them. Buys them on amazon...gets them monday...with duty he paid $3 more than he would have @ his local bike shop. Serves you right fuckhead....
Anyway...slacking is over...time to work.
