If nothing else, I will write a blog....let me vent....Fuucckkkk...just not my night....
I spent, hours - like 10 - in the last 2 days - organizing, deleting, and copy photos from my PC to both my external hard drive and to DVD. I finished literally about 10 mins before my wife came home today. I was so happy with myself...."look baby, all files are organized - I put everything into neat folders on the hard drive" - this is something I think we all have been avoiding for months....Anyway - so proud of myself, and how the hard drive was working (we already returned a lemon) - I said "hey hun...you have to check this out - you can even play video right from the hard drive - no lag or anything - its awesome" . So, put a kids movie on - tell the kids to sit down, watch the movie for minute or two - which of course somehow led to me accidently picking up our new(ish) $220 hard drive by the cord and dropping it...I lose it - I am an ass -
Of course the hard drive doesn't work. Good news? I back everything up on DVD's ....also, the hard drive has a 5 year warranty...which is the single reason why I spent the extra money on this brand....bad news???? well, typically I would have all the "inappropiate pictures" encrypted...BUT, since I was organzing everything, they weren't....
Sssoo the internal debate begins....send the hard drive back - to have some pimply, greasy, virgin, computer tech fix my hard drive, and give him free range to some 4000(ish) inappropriate pics (ummm what can I say, I know that sounds like a lot, but we've been married for 8 years...and been together for 15 - plus she is fucking hot and I can't help myself) - or toss the drive (yepp everything backed up to my back up) and buy a new hard drive...
Ssoo....neither right? Take appart the hard drive - drive to the store to buy a new case (maybe just the case...please god let it be the case) and try that. Get to the store - "hey man will this case work with any external hard drive?" reponse - "yeah for sure...you'll have no problem" ... So I spend the $22.50 - drive home - not fucking compatible - well wait maybe - maybe I just need to take this extra thing off - but these wierd ass star screws...(no not a phillips - an actual star shaped) is driving me nuts...I have every fucking tool - but not that exact size of this particular one - so find something that will work....ahhhh one screw out -- yeahhh getting somewhere - second screw - ahhh fuck - bent the screw driver and now its useless(it bends now whenever you put any pressure on it)....and loook I scratched the dining room table....ummm so finally figure out that it is not even close to being compatible- and of course - big sign on the front door - NO REFUNDS - EXCHANGES ONLY FOR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS...
So - out couple hundred bucks right? Big fucking deal...funny - serves me right - last night me: "Hey baby, even with all our Xmas shopping done, tat appointment, and xmas travelling, we still have a bunch of extra money this month..."
oh great - now the oldest one has just covered our bathroom walls in soap....could be worse right? At least they will get clean....
Geeze...I feel better already - even if no one reads it...just nice to vent...
Barbi is putting the kids to bed now - so we'll see how the rest of the night goes - she'll either kill me for acting like such an asshole - or try and make my evening better.....
